 Race-day waiver

This hard-copy waiver is only required for last minute, race-day submissions if the runner hasn’t registered online as of race day.

NOTE: A general waiver for all other participants is included within the runner registration form. All participants must sign the waiver electronically to participate in the Banff Jasper Relay.

 Captain’s information

Being a team captain is a big responsibility – but with a bit of planning your Banff Jasper Relay experience can be a great one for you and your team.

Accommodations and race-day logistics

Lake Louise accommodations:

Accommodation should be booked in or close to the Lake Louise Inn on the Friday evening before the race for the south phase runners. Please advise participants to book using this link or to call and quote group block “Banff Jasper Relay Participants”. Book early before they sell out! 

Saskatchewan River Crossing accommodations: 

Accommodation should be booked in or close to The Crossing on the Friday evening before the race for the north phase runners.

Jasper accommodations:

Check out the Tonquin Inn, Maligne Lodge, or one of the other hotels in the area. If there is no accommodation Hinton is the closest town.

Plan to be in Lake Louise Alberta by 4 p.m. on the Friday before the race, with your north phase team captain.

If you are flying to the relay, book your flights to arrive in Calgary by Friday at noon and rent three vehicles.

Friday night

Team captains (north and south)  are required to attend the Team Captains Meeting and wildlife update at the Lake Louise Inn at 6 p.m.  Please note that this is a mandatory meeting – it’s part of our permit requirements to hold this event in Canada’s National Parks. North team captains drive to The Crossing for a good night’s sleep.

South runners:

At 6:30 a.m., S1 and S2 runners should be at Castle Junction (30 minutes east of Lake Louise) ready to run. Approved safety vests please!! The south phase race starts at 7 a.m.  This is where you get your stage-two runners on the bus for transport to their start at Baker Creek.

North runners:

Be at the Crossing Resort at 6:30 a.m. to get your race numbers from your team captain (Unless other arrangements have been made) The north phase race starts at 7 a.m.

Saturday night:

Post-race party in Jasper from 6 p.m. to midnight:

Dinner served from 6 to 8 p.m. Please have your tickets with you. Tickets are available at the door for $20.00 each, children under 12 years of age eat for free
